How to Propose a Session

Did you have a “lightbulb” moment for a hot topic you want to present at ProductCamp?  Then submit your idea, it’s simple!  All you have to do is click here and you will be asked for some basic information including:

  1. Name
  2. Email
  3. Session title
  4. Session description
  5. Pick a session category
  6. Pick a session format
  7. Your brief bio

Do you want to learn more about a subject area or explore it further?  Then submit your idea to host a town hall, roundtable breakout, or workshop.  If enough other people are interested, you could have a great discussion and learn a lot.

Don’t want to carry the entire time by yourself or would like to have a vigorous debate, then invite some others for a panel discussion on a variety of topics.

No matter which format you choose, you will come away with new knowledge and a larger community to discuss the topic with.

What type of sessions work well?

Those that enable you to actively participate and are interactive are the best.  Last years’ feedback, participants liked:

  • Interactivity
  • Discussion
  • Use cases/Examples
  • Roundtables

And they didn’t care for:

  • Excessive slideware (> 10 slides is pushing it)
  • Leaving questions until the end
  • Anything sales-y

Everyone has something to share and we can all learn something new.
